Barrister Asad Maqsood was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 2015 as a transferring Solicitor Advocate with higher rights of audience in Civil and Criminal jurisdictions.
Prior to his previous role as a solicitor he practised as a Legal Executive. Alongside this vocational career path to becoming a lawyer, Mr Maqsood also graduated through the University of London with LLB (Hons), and passed LLM (Professional Legal Practice) from the University of Law with a distinction. Mr Maqsood was also a law visiting lecturer at the University of Law where he taught academic and practice courses at graduate and post-graduate level.
Mr Maqsood also successfully ran his OISC Level 3 practice, Maxim Law, for four years before establishing his practice at Maxim Chambers.
In addition to managing his practice, Mr Maqsood delivers CPD training courses for legal professionals and manages a CPD group of legal practitioners. He regularly provides mentoring and shadowing to aspiring barristers and solicitors.
In the 2024 elections, Mr Maqsood has been elected to the 2024 Bar Council of England and Wales. He also undertakes pro bono work, and he was a Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) Pro Bono Trust. He enjoys gardening and reading in his spare time.
